An Update on Saint James the Greater Parish in Charles Town, WV

Update, July 7th, 2009, 12:50 PM I just received this. It corrects the information below and is the current plan. BOYS CAMP WITH THE CANONS The Boys Camp with the Canons Regular of New Jerusalem will be on the First Week of August (3-8) in Charles Town, WV. It will run from 8 am to 3 pm Monday through Friday, and 8 am to noon on Saturday. Dom Daniel will publish more detailed information soon. There is still room for a few more boys, so please send an e-mail to the coordinator of this event at phalanx0411 "at" yahoo "dot" com if you are interested, or pass this information along. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ From what I have heard, the TLM at Saint James has been suspended temporarily as there is no priest present who can offer it regularly. Those who wish to attend the TLM are traveling to St. John the Baptist in Front Royal, VA where the Mass is offered each Sunday as shown in the menu to the right. The Canons Regular of the New Je

Traditional Latin Mass Calendar and How to Find It

Nothing is more sad than to see someone from a remote international location frantically "searching" for the Traditional Latin Mass Calendar on this blog site! First, there is a link to the Traditional Calendar from Our Lady of Guadalupe Seminary in the blue "header" of this blog entitled, "Trad. Calendar-F.S.S.P." Clicking that link would take you here . Second, there are other alternatives such as this one . Yesterday, I threw out an idea for a book entitled "Traditional Latin Mass for Dummies." I said that and I meant it. Today, I am throwing out another idea: a blog widget that gives the Traditional Latin Mass calendar for the day. I will be the first blog to post it, believe me! In the meantime, here is the calendar for July courtesy of the F.S.S.P. (hat tip!) 1 Most Precious Blood - 1st class 2 Visitation of the Blessed virgin Mary - 2nd class 3 St. Irenaeus of Lyons - 3rd class or Sacred Heart of Jesus - 3rd class 4

Here is an idea...really...FREE!

Someone was searching for " The Idiot's Guide to the Traditional Latin Mass ." Seriously! I think our friend was actually looking for " Traditional Latin Mass for Dummies ." This would be just one of an endless series of books. Now, I mean no disrespect to the Traditional Mass as I love it or I wouldn't blog about it, but this series of books is enormously popular . Fr. John Trigilio's book on " Catholicism for Dummies " is quite superb and has been translated into a number of languages . So, I am posting this idea (a reader wondered if there is one?). A book in this series on the Traditional Latin Mass or Usus Antiquior for Dummies that would help those who really WANT to know more about it, how it came to be, etc. would be quite helpful to the many who are interested in knowing more about the Traditional Mass. If anyone is already working on such a book, please contact me by email! It could be that someone already has a book s
